Two Words to describe this place:
Yum Meeeee!

I was visiting my boyfriend and he's new to this area. We were (really, I was) craving Sushi. Being a SF native, I immediately turn to Yelp to find a local place.

Reason Why I Love This Place:
1) Great Service - From beginning to end, we were greeted, served, and sent on our way with politeness and smiles.

2) Great Food - Yes, I was in the mood for Sushi, which was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented ... but I was also in the mood for something more. The Garlic Shrimp was just the thing! Served with a small salad and miso soup prior to the entree, the dish was perfect!

3) Atmosphere - Quiet, quaint, and low key.

I've been going here for years; it's a small, humble place in a tiny strip mall, and a modest menu, but they execute it well. What I like is the authenticity of the food; with all the Chinese and Korean owned sushi joints around here, this place has more real Japanese flavors. The sushi is always buttery and fresh. (Don't expect fancy rolls here. It's more for sushi purists.) I love the salad dressing they use, and the sauce on the chicken teriyaki is one of the best I've had. Their udon is made with really tasty homemade broth. The service can be slow because they only have one sushi chef and his wife in the back cooking, but the food is made to order. They are always kind and prepare their food with care. (I don't know what the review about frozen stuff is referring to; as I've said, I've been here many times and NEVER had that experience.) Lately the place seems emptier than in the past, and I hate to see that, because it's nice to see true Japanese food in Howard County

Being of Japanese heritage I'm extremely picky when choosing a Japanese restaurant. I absolutely LOVE Fuji! The sushi chef does a wonderful job. His sushi is very fresh and delicious. Their ma bo tofu is excellent. Everything I've had has reminded me of my grandmother's cooking (which is the highest compliement I can give!). I highly recommend this place.
