I've been going here for years; it's a small,
humble place in a tiny strip mall, and a modest menu, but they execute
it well. What I like is the authenticity of the food; with all the
Chinese and Korean owned sushi joints around here, this place has more
real Japanese flavors. The sushi is always buttery and fresh. (Don't
expect fancy rolls here. It's more for sushi purists.) I love the salad
dressing they use, and the sauce on the chicken teriyaki is one of the
best I've had. Their udon is made with really tasty homemade broth. The
service can be slow because they only have one sushi chef and his wife
in the back cooking, but the food is made to order. They are always kind
and prepare their food with care. (I don't know what the review about
frozen stuff is referring to; as I've said, I've been here many times
and NEVER had that experience.) Lately the place seems emptier than in
the past, and I hate to see that, because it's nice to see true Japanese
food in Howard County
